The centerpieces are constructed from molded epoxy with either graphite or aluminum powder fillers and fit into standard aluminum cell housings Products SedVel60KThe SedVel60K is a custom-designed centerpiece for use with high-speed sedimentation velocity experiments in the analytical ultracentrifuge. When used with the Beckman An60-Ti rotor, it is rated for 60,000 rpm and is compatible with the absorbance and interference optical systems, as well as the new Aviv AU-FDS fluorescence detector (Aviv Biomedical, Inc.). SedVel60K-MMMeniscus matching centerpiece designed by Walter Stafford ensures that the sample and reference meniscus positions are identical. Useful for high precision interferometry or for difference sedimentation velocity, the design is based on the SedVel60K dimensions, and the centerpiece is rated to 60,000 rpm. Both 12-mm and 3-mm pathlength are available. Available October 2006 SedVel60K-44-channel centerpiece based on the SedVel60K design. The 4-channels are sector shaped and hold 120 ul of sample. Doubling the number of samples per run, these centerpieces are useful for both equilibrium and sedimentation velocity analysis (though with lower resolution than the SedVel60K). Currently, the SedVel60K-4 centerpieces work with interference and fluorescence detectors only, and will not work with the XLA absorbance optics. The centerpiece fits in a standard aluminum housing and requires no additional parts or modification to use. The 4- and 6-channel centerpieces are sector shaped and require 20 and 15 uL of sample, respectively. SedVel60K-SBSynthetic boundary centerpiece. Useful for concentration and extinction coefficient determinations. This centerpiece overlays the sample with solvent from the reference sector. Uses the standard cell components and may be used to 60,000 rpm.
